Job Title: Workshop Manager
Location: Lusaka, Zambia
Department: Operations
Reports To: Regional Manager/General Manager/ Operations Manager
Job Type: Full Time Employment

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Workshop Manager to oversee the
daily operations of our workshop. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing
staff, scheduling repairs and maintenance, ensuring safety compliance, controlling
inventory and maintaining a high standard of workmanship. This role requires a strong
leader who can manage a team while ensuring efficient, high-quality service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and coordinate daily workshop operations and activities.
• Manage a team of technicians, mechanics, and other workshop staff.
• Allocate jobs and tasks to appropriate personnel based on skill and priority.
• Ensure timely completion of repairs, maintenance, and other workshop tasks.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and spare parts.
• Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Inspect work performed to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to standards.
• Train and develop workshop staff as needed.
• Maintain workshop cleanliness and organization.
• Prepare and submit regular reports on workshop performance and productivity.
• Liaise with customers (if applicable) to provide updates and resolve issues.

Required Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a Workshop Manager or similar supervisory role.
• Technical background in automotive / mechanical / electrical / industrial field.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in workshop management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification or diploma in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or a
related field.
• Experience in budget management and cost control.
• Previous customer service experience (if applicable).

Working Conditions:
• Workshop environment (can be noisy and involve working around machinery).
• May require occasional overtime or weekend work depending on project needs.
