We seek an Associate Programme Officer to join Nature Conserved team and work within our Global Wildlife Trade focal initiative.
This role will involve supporting the delivery of UNEP-WCMC’s suite of projects focussed on tackling one of the main drivers of species loss - overexploitation. The successful candidate will help contribute to global efforts to ensure that international trade in wildlife is well-regulated, legal and sustainable.
Key areas of responsibility
πAnalysis and synthesis of information from primary literature and from multiple sources to produce succinct technical reports for policy-makers.
πAnalysis of large datasets and producing graphical representation of the data into outputs in a clear and digestible manner for policy-makers.
πContribution towards drafting and compiling other publications and analyses for policy-makers, particularly in relation to international wildlife trade.
πRespond to requests for technical information on behalf of the programme.
πContribute towards the implementation of the Centre’s strategy and mission to support decision-makers through the provision of authoritative biodiversity data and information.
Skills we seek
πΈExcellent written and spoken English.
πΈExcellent attention to detail and motivation to ensure that information entered into databases are accurate.
πΈStrong analytical skills and critical review of scientific information.
πΈStrong numerical skills and ability to analyse quantitative data; experience with R is desirable.
πΈExcellent time management and tasks prioritisation skills.
πΈStrong communication and interpersonal skills.
